And don't cheese out and buy a guitar that hasn't been setup by a guitar tech at a store or something. :)ĮDIT: I do want to say that no matter what you go with, if you decide on a tube amp, definitely get a Ibanez Tube Screamer. Option #3 is you have unlimited cash then fuck it, buy a Music Man Majesty and an Axe Fx III with FC controller and volume/wah control pedal with a set of Yamaha HS8 monitor speakers.or if you want to knock down walls, get a Mesa Boogie Badlander, Triple Rectifier, or JP2C with a Mesa Boogie 4x12 cabinet, a tube screamer and go crazy. The THR doesn't have stomp boxes but if you're just bedroom practicing and want a bunch of effects right out of the box, ability to record and tweak tones on your computer, it's a SOLID unit. Just make sure you get a Floyd Rose because some whammy bars are just shit at staying in tune. If you want a whammy bar, you can still find ESP guitars around that price. On this, personally if you are certain you will stick with it or commit to 2 years of solid practicing 20 to 60 min per day no excuses, then I'd get the ESP LTD EC-1000 (pick your color and style) because these are just SOLID for metal. Option #2 spend a little more and get something decent: You can get cheap used stuff and just go with what you can afford for option #1. This depends purely upon what you budget. I bought myself a MOOER GE200 effects pedal, it's got midi support(for recording etc), the pedal for like wah etc etc which I still haven't used, aux input, and it comes with like 20+ cab simulations, all the effects and digital pedals you will ever need as a beginner to intermediate to experiment with and headphone jack for night time playing or when you don't want to piss everyone in the house.Ĭheckout the GE150 for a little cheaper and see what the difference is, for like $70 less. you just don't need em and you need to learn how to use reverb, delay etc etc and why you might want that shit to begin with, without spending stupid money on pedals that are shit quality. below is the official site link though.ĭo not get a practice amp and pedals man. you just don't need all that cheap shit man.
